When you walk into Mindful Body of Maitland, you will be walking
into the arms of a friend. Our mission is to create a community of folks who are striving to live our lives with intention
and grace. When we are aware of our inner thoughts we can begin to release tension that has long been held in our bodies.
This is Mindfulness. The reverse is also true, when we begin to move our bodies with intention, through a series of postures
(asanas), engage in techniques for concentration and correct breathing - we can begin to release all the static in our minds.
This comes from a commitment to the practice of yoga.
Yoga literally means "Yoke."
Through the consistent practice of yoga we realize our union, our connectedness to each other. We recognize the connection
between our body, mind and spirit. And we find our connection to our best, truest self.
At Mindful
Body of Maitland we are about finding that perfect balance between caring for ourselves, our families, our community, and
our world at large.
In addition to yoga classes Mindful Body of Maitland offers massage therapy
services. Regular massage therapy is an important part in a holistic approach to wellness. Scientific studies show that
massage promotes quicker healing, can lower blood pressure and reduce symptoms of fatigue and depression. Taking time out
of our busy lives to experience the healing touch of another is always worth it. As yoga practitioners, our massage therapists
have a deep understanding of how to care for their own bodies as well as yours.
